Meet The Founders!

Hello friends new and old, and welcome to Spellbound In Seattle! A book convention designed for the PNW where you “Come for the books, and stay for the stories!”

We are so happy to have you here and cannot wait to get to share in this new adventure with you all.

We are Kodie and Tessa, friends with a shared passion for books who knew that the PNW needed to have something fun, and Spellbound In Seattle felt like the perfect solution.

Kodie was a co-founder of Books Gowns and Crowns, a book convention that travelled around the country. It was a rewarding experience for her that she loved so much, but her heart belonged to the West Coast. So she separated from that to create a convention that celebrates everyone within this industry, from the authors who write the stories, to the readers who keep them going, and everyone in between. 

Tessa first became involved with Books Gowns and Crowns as a volunteer and then later as assistant—that’s how she met Kodie. Witnessing the sense of belonging and community these events create was both awe-inspiring and life-changing. So when Kodie asked her to dive into this new endeavor with her, all she could think was, “YES, ABSOLUTELY!”

Together they knew that creating a space that felt safe and inclusive for everyone was the most important thing. Spellbound in Seattle was born, and we are so incredibly excited to get to share it with you all, and help you feel like the main character in your story.
